Thermo/fluids Lab

The Thermo/Fluids Laboratory (TFL) is the newest facility in the School of Engineering & Computer Science. The lab has dual purposes, focusing both on undergraduate education and on experimental research in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. The TFL team uses advanced diagnostic methods to study a variety of complex engineering issues, such as micro-channel heat transfer, electronics cooling, refrigeration, micro-flow enhancement, and aerodynamic control. Current research projects include the development of a heat exchanger for laser diodes and the study of groove enhancements for micro-channel cooling.
