Manufacturing laboratory

The mission of the Manufacturing laboratory is to support educational programs at the Washington State University Vancouver by providing a safe and well supervised facility for students to have the opportunity for a hands-on fabrication and manufacturing experience. The shop contains lathes, milling machines, 3-axis CNC machining, a rapid prototyping machine, a plastic injection molding machine, a micro machining center, small CNC milling machines, wood cutters, and various tools. The lab is used for student projects, research projects, and to support the lab component of several courses.

The mission of the Manufacturing laboratory includes:

•  To train undergraduate students to get familiar with machine tools and various manufacturing processes.

•  To conduct the undergraduate and graduate level research projects in the area of machining, rapid prototyping, and material processing.

•  To serve the local companies in fabricating their prototypes through the High Tech Manufacturing and Diagnostic Service Center.
