The Secondary Certification Program with MIT Degree is in its tenth year of preparing new middle school and high school teachers for Washington state schools. More than 200 teachers who have graduated from this program are hard at work improving the lives of students and the work of schools in southwest Washington. Credentials in English/Language Arts, Biology/General Science, History/ Social Studies, and Mathematics are available in the program.

Master in Teaching with Secondary Certification

Students successfully completing this program and meeting state requirements will receive their Washington State Residency Teacher Certificate with a Secondary (5-12) Endorsement and their master’s degree. The overarching goal of the program is to create a collaborative environment that supports all students and offers a foundation for professional growth. The Master In Teaching (MIT) program with Secondary Certification is housed in the Department of Teaching and Learning (T&L) of the College of Education (COE).
