Master of Education

Building on a foundation that places today’s educational challenges in historical and social context, the Master of Education (EdM) program offers opportunities for specialization in a growing number of fields including English Language Learners (ELL), Reading, Deaf Education, and Special Education (SpEd). We also offer Professional Certification within the masters program. The EdM program emphasizes reflective analysis as well as professional competence. The EdM program is housed in the Department of Teaching and Learning (T&L) of the College of Education (COE).

Courses are offered in the evenings during the public school year to accommodate working teachers and on a variable condensed schedule during the summer. Students cannot complete the program by only taking courses during summer semesters, however. Most students complete the program in 3 years but are given up to 6 years in accordance with Graduate School policy.
