Field-Based Superintendent Certification Program

Our program builds on a mission to prepare educators who demonstrate a positive impact on student learning with coursework and curriculum in the following areas: strategic leadership, instructional leadership, organizational leadership, and political & community leadership. The Field-Based Superintendent Certification Program is housed in the Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling Psychology (ELCP) of the College of Education (COE).

Program Description

The Field-Based Superintendent Certification Program is designed as a 2 year 24-credit program, with the internship occurring concurrently with coursework throughout its duration. Candidates meet once a month on a weekend for 8 months each year at various locations throughout the state. Students apply and enter the cohort once each year, in the fall semester.
