The Washington State University Galleries host rotating exhibits that feature the work of regional artists, student artwork and cultural exhibits. The exhibits are facilitated by the Diversity Art Council and the Campus Gallery Director. The council supports the campus diversity mission to enhance learning about respect for diversity and quality.
Art is an integral part of lifelong learning, specifically art that provokes interest in diverse cultures and artistic forms. The council’s aim is to make art accessible to the public in a way that creates connections and collaborations to advance cultural learning. The exhibits are chosen to create supportive interaction among diverse populations and foster respect among viewers with varying personal values and ideas.
The primary exhibit spaces are in the Administration building (main level), the Engineering Life Science building (first and second floor) and the Library. There is additional exhibit space in the Multi Media Classroom building and the Firstenburg Student Commons.
Entry to campus exhibits is free. WSU Vancouver galleries are open Monday - Thursday 8 am - 9 pm; Friday 8 am - 5 pm. WSU Vancouver Library is open Monday - Thursday 8 am - 10 pm; Friday 8 am - 6 pm; and Saturday - Sunday 10 am - 7 pm.
