WSU Vancouver's Safety Committee
The WSU Vancouver Safety Committee was established to help ensure the health and safety of the campus community and its environment. The safety committee's scope includes:
Accident report review to help prevent accident recurrence
Accept and evaluate employee safety suggestions
Promote and publicize safety
Make recommendations to administration to improve accident prevention
Sponsor safety training courses
Perform facility inspections
Help solve or refer safety issues that aren't resolved at the departmental level
Mission Statement
To protect the health, safety and well-being of the students, faculty, staff and campus visitors of WSU Vancouver, and the environmental integrity of the campus and surroundings. This is accomplished through designing appropriate policies, procedures, and training programs; monitoring and revising them as needed, staying updated as to changes in the field, and enlisting all campus community members as safety team members.
The Committee
The Safety Committee is comprised of elected department representatives, students, and appointed representatives. Each representative is tasked with:
Helping resolve safety issues at the departmental level
Bringing safety issues from the department to the safety committee for resolution
Contributing to help meet the annual goals set by the safety committee
Participating in accident report review and accident prevention solution

Meetings are held every third Tuesday in ADM 236 at 9:00 am (unless otherwise announced).

Safety Orientations
WSU Vancouver's safety orientation policy is as follows. All employees upon hire are required to participate in a safety orientation and then re-oriented on a bi-annual basis. Please use the following form when performing a safety orientation.
