Medical Flexible Spending Account: A tax-free account that allows you to reduce your taxable income while saving money to pay for out-of-pocket medical, dental, vision, hearing, and prescription-drug costs.
Unless you are a new employee, enrollment for the 2008 Plan Year has closed. If you are a new employee, please fill out the paper enrollment form and submit to HRS within 31 days of eligibility to enroll.

Dependent Care Assistance Program: Allows you to pay for child, elder, or other dependent care expenses by setting aside a portion of your payroll dollars on a pre-tax basis and reducing your taxable salary.
The Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP) allows you to save on child or elder care expenses (e.g. babysitting, daycare, in-home care for an older dependent incapable of self-care).

Long-Term Care Insurance Plan: Brief summary of some of the features in the Washington State HCA & PEBB Long-Term Care Insurance Plan.
The Washington State HCA & PEBB sponsors a voluntary Group Long-Term Care Insurance Plan for all actively-at-wrk employees currently eligible for PEBB medical coverage and their eligible spouses/qualified domestic partners, parents and parents-in-law. The insurance is underwritten by John Hancock Life Insurance Company, Boston, MA one of the premier Long-Term Care Insurance carriers.If you are a newly eligible actively-at-work employee, applying within 31 days of becoming eligible, you will receive modified underwriting. You will need to answer two questions on the application concerning your health. If you answer no to both questions you are automatically accepted into the plan. You may apply for the LTC coverage at any time, but if you apply after your initial 31 day enrollment period, your application will require proof of good health.
Your age when you first enroll determines your monthly premium rate for coverage. The younger you are when you enroll, the lower your cost will be.
In addition to conventional nursing home coverage, the plan covers services received in your own home, in a qualified adult day care facility, or in a alternate care facility.
If long-term care costs increase due to inflation, you may have the opportunity to increase your elected Daily Maximum Benefit and consequently increase your Lifetime Maximum Benefit. This allows your benefits to remain meaningful over time.
Even if you leave your job you may be able to continue your coverage at group rates.
