Step Afrika celebrates stepping, an art form born at African American fraternities and based in African traditions. As the first professional company dedicated to stepping, Step Afrika’s intricate kicks, stomps and rhythms mixed with spoken word pound the floor and fill the air.

International Faculty and Faculty of Color Social Gathering

The International Faculty and Faculty of Color Social Gathering was an informal get-together and luncheon. After introductions, participants discussed a variety of diversity issues and topics as they relate to academia in general and specifically to the WSU Vancovuer campus. Discussion topics raised included the diversity of WSU Vancouver faculty compared to the student population, the value of campus-wide diversity events and projects, etc.

MOSAIC 2008: College Awareness and Outreach Program
Friday, February 29, 2008, 8:30 am - 1:30 pm

MOSAIC is a free campus visitation program which serves to increase college access and promote awareness regarding academic preparation, paying for college and campus life among historically underrepresented and low-income students. MOSAIC participants will experience a variety of activities that include faculty-led lectures, admissions and financial aid workshops, a cultural performance and more. Students will have the opportunity to interact with WSU Vancouver students, staff and faculty, as well as meet other students from around SW Washington.
