Package Tracking
- Before you call the Mailroom to find out if your item has been delivered, please call the Vendor and obtain a tracking ID - both so Mailroom staff may search the database of receipts, and so you may check the carrier's website for tracking information (it does not happen often, but it DOES happen that drivers deliver boxes to the wrong address)
- You may use the Internet to track your package at: UPS or FedEx or US Mail
- Please Note - All incoming and outgoing package tracking is done in the Mailroom by means of a barcode scanner and computer database, which means that only items with a tracking ID (such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc) are able to be searched in the delivery database... items sent by US Mail (unless they have a Certified or Delivery Confirmation barcode) or items inside the Courier box, have no individual identity and may not be tracked
- Sorry, there is no such thing as an Incoming Delivery Schedule. US Mail and packages (FedEx, UPS, Etc) arrive based on any individual delivery driver's daily workload and on the speed class used by the sender, not on any established schedule. Your items will be received, sorted and then delivered to your campus Department as soon as possible
- Click here for informaion on US Mail Delivery Confirmation, and do NOTE that any barcode tracking label you may put on domestic mail (Delivery Confirmation, Certified, etc) does NOT work with foreign mail, since another country does not use the US Mail process for tracking items - which means that you must use FedEx or UPS if you wish to be able to track any item going to a foreign country (Call FedEx at 800-238-5355 or UPS at 800-742-5877 to find out if either will deliver to the specific address in the foreign country, and do NOT use a US Mail customs tag, use the appropriate FedEx or UPS form)
Addressing a Package
- Please put your NAME on the FedEx (or UPS) form in case of questions
- When placing an address on a box or other item to be shipped, please put the label in a CORNER to allow space for the UPS/FedEx/Courier shipping tag.
