Service Scholarships

Students in Service is a part-time AmeriCorps program that offers scholarships to college students who participate in community service. Participants make a difference in their communities, gain valuable civic and workforce skills, and earn an education award.

Educational Award

  • 300 hours of service = $1000
  • 450 hours of service = $1250
  • 900 hours of service = $2362

Activities that Qualify

  • Service-learning
  • Non-paid, academic internships with a service-focus
  • Practicum hours (such as nursing, counseling, firefighting, student teaching, etc.)
  • Federal or state-funded community service work study positions
  • Most community service work (such as tutoring, mentoring, stream restoration, etc.)
